What If Your Paint Color Told a Story?
A Cherry Blossom Makeover That’s More Than Just Pretty
At BB Frösch, we believe painting furniture is never just about the paint. It’s about what it represents—hope, intention, and a whole lot of heart.
Sometimes, a paint color isn’t just a choice... it’s a chapter in your story.
The Story Behind the Color
Julie found this 1967 faux bamboo Thomasville china cabinet tucked away in a garage, waiting—like so many forgotten pieces—for its day in the sun. It had good bones but had clearly seen better days.
When it came time to give it new life, Julie didn’t choose just any color. She let her daughter take the lead.
Together, they chose Cherry Blossom by Clark & Kensington—a soft, hopeful pink inspired by their love for Japan and their upcoming family trip to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. 🌸
What could’ve been a simple makeover became a meaningful memory in the making.

This color is also surprisingly close in tone to Pantone's Cherry Blossom 13-3207 TCX.
Like many of our transformations, this one started with a little courage and a willingness to begin.
➡️ A thorough cleaning - we used Simple Green
➡️ A gentle sand on the peeling areas
➡️ We repaired the broken drawer and broken faux bamboo rods with wood putty
➡️ Two coats of BB Frösch Paint Transformer mixed with Cherry Blossom flat latex paint
➡️ Restored original brass hardware - wished we had our slowcooker - but we used acetone and a good scrubbing to remove the paint
➡️ Sealed the piece with General Finishes Water-Based Top Coat in Satin
And just like that, a garage castoff became a showstopper.
The Frösch Effect in Action
This makeover is a sweet reminder that your paint color can reflect your memories, your journey, and your why.
Whether you’re transforming an heirloom, rescuing an estate sale find, or finally tackling the project that’s been sitting in the garage—your story matters. And the right color can help you tell it.
